The IATSE is an International Union that represents members employed in stagecraft, Motion Picture and Television production and trade show industries throughout the United States, its Territories and Canada. Local 822 currently represent members in Wardrobe, Makeup and Hair crafts in the Live Theatrical setting with our geographical jurisdiction covering Toronto and vicinity. Granted its charter from the International Union in 1950 with 7 wardrobe attendants as the original members, Local 822 (Theatrical Wardrobe) merged with Local 800 (Makeup Artists and Hairstylists) July 1st, 2003 and we are now more than 130 members strong. We hold collective agreements with most of the major venues in Toronto including The Hummingbird Centre, The Royal Alexandra Theatre, The Princess of Wales Theatre, Roy Thomson and Massey Halls and the Air Canada Centre. Our members work under agreement to the Canadian Opera Company, Opera Atelier, The Canadian Stage Company and Mirvish Productions.
